Oxford Core Strategy 2026

Publication date:2012-04-29, Last updated:2013-03-12

The Core Strategy is the principal document within the Local Development Framework, or development planning at the local level in England. It outlines a spatial strategy and planning policies to direct development, in this case within Oxford up to 2026. The Core Strategy forms the starting point for determining planning applications and all development plan documents in the area must confirm to the Strategy. The Strategy acts as a steer for other local development documents which may set out more detailed policies, and is flexible to allow for uncertainties in the future, whilst providing a stable base on which development decisions can be made.
